[00:00:00] Hey there, and welcome back to another one Minute messaging magic episode. I'm running this series of super short, super quick, and super effective episodes that share a micro tip or two you can implement immediately to make your messaging, marketing and sales more effective. In today's one minute messaging magic tip, I'm actually sharing five different tweaks you can make.
[00:01:18] To your website to improve your lead gen and close more sales. And I'm sharing five because you may already have one or two of these strategies already in play, and I wanted to make sure there was at least one tip you could take action on this week. So website lead gen tip number one, remove the social icons from your.
[00:01:37] Upper navigation bar and put them into the footer. When you have your social icons in the hero or top section of your website, people will naturally be curious and click them. But guess what? Once they click your Instagram or LinkedIn icons, they are taken away from your page and into their social media feed.
[00:01:59] They are gonna be distracted. They're gonna catch up on all the dirt, and you've lost them. You've lost them simply because you made it. Too easy for them to leave your homepage. Instead, put your social icons into your footer and on your contact page. Your reader will stay on your page longer and they will likely click over to explore the other pages before clicking away.
[00:02:23] Website lead gen Tip number two, optimize your photos. First, make sure your photos aren't too big in file size, that it slows down your load time. If your website loads too slowly, people will bounce. They won't stick around to see what loads. You can also rename your photos with keywords, so instead of having a photo named.
[00:02:46] Image 3,827 or Kim Keel headshot. Number two, rename it with keywords like Kim Keel Edmonton Copywriter marketing strategist. This helps with SEO because search engines use file names to understand image content. You can also add alt text to your photos. That includes some of your keywords. Alt text is the descriptive text that describes your photos for screen readers and it.
[00:03:14] Boosts your website's accessibility. You can update the alt text on your photos to include some of those keywords. So for example, if there was a photo of me sitting at a cafe with a typewriter, I might. Add the alt text as copywriter Kim Keel is sitting at a typewriter, at a cafe writing sales copy for professional entrepreneurs website lead gen tip number three, add testimonials.
[00:03:42] It is amazing to me how many websites I review for service-based businesses that do not have a single testimonial on their homepage. Testimonials. Are like a triple threat. They provide social proof, they build your authority and they show the type of clients you work with. Your potential clients who visit your website want to see themselves on the page and testimonials, do this brilliantly.
[00:04:10] I. Website lead gen tip number four. Have a visible contact button in your upper navigation, especially if you're a service provider who delivers one-on-one services or intimate group programs. Don't make it difficult for people to reach you. Website lead gen Tip number five, optimize your footer. Make sure you have updated your copyright year.
[00:04:36] I was checking out someone's website the other day and the copyright was listed as 2022. When I see that I lose trust in you, it makes me think you're not staying current. Or up to date. So take one minute today to make sure your copyright year is updated to 2025. Your footer is also a great place to add a very short bio or share your business values.
[00:05:02] A short bio, of course, is great for SEO and traffic and your business values or an inclusivity statement will help your prospective clients choose to work with you because they share those values. So optimize that footer with those three little. Tweaks. So to summarize, here are five quick changes you can make to your website to boost lead gen and close more sales.
[00:05:26] One, remove social icons from the hero or header and put them into the footer. Two. Optimize your photos for load time and keyword strength. Three, add testimonials. Four. Make it easy to get in touch with you with a visible contact button. And five, optimize your footer by adding a short bio. Or your business value statement.
[00:05:50] Now, obviously there's a lot more that goes into optimizing your website to boost sales and generate more leads, but make sure you have at least these five tips in play and you'll be well on your way. That wraps up this week's one minute messaging magic tip. Next week I'll be back to share a magic tip to boost email engagement.
[00:06:12] I'll see you then.
