93: A copy quickie to simplify sales

Are you overcomplicating your sales copy?

I’ve recently noticed while doing some sales funnel audits that many business owners face a common challenge: their sales funnels have become too complicated.

Many of us do this! We overcomplicate the offers, the bonuses, the emails, and the sales copy. And when it's too complicated, it confuses or turns off our buyers.

However, when we simplify and streamline our messaging and offers, sales can actually increase.

In this episode, I’m sharing a very simple copy recipe that you can use today. This particular copy recipe is one of the most simple recipes you'll find, and it can be used for many of your copywriting needs.

Topics We Cover in This Episode:

  • What this simple and effective copywriting recipe is

  • Why this quickie works like a charm

It's time to ditch the overwhelm you might be feeling and find confidence in your copywriting so you can get your message out there and attract more soulmate clients. Let's get started. Hello, hello and welcome to episode 93 of the Ill Communication Podcast. And to be completely honest, I'm recording this episode at the last possible moment. My to do list is a little out of control in my business and in my life right now. You see, baseball season has started, which means we are busy almost every day of the week with baseball practices or games between our two boys, and that's on top of the general household and yard chores. The basement. Renaud, my husband is planning helping my in-laws downsize and move into senior's assisted living situation and all the regular life things. So I'm craving simplicity in my life. When I'm planning meals, I'm looking for the simplest, easiest recipes. I'm prioritizing very simple things like just getting in my weight training and fitness programs in each week and sleep.

[00:01:45] I'm saying no to a lot of things so I can keep things simpler in this busy time of chaos. And it's the same in business and copywriting too. I've been reviewing and auditing a few client sales funnels, the sales pages and emails, and I'm seeing a common theme that often we overcomplicate things. We overcomplicate the offers, the bonuses, the emails, and the sales copy. And when it's too complicated, it confuses or turns off our buyers. But when we simplify and streamline our messaging and offers, sales can actually increase. Now I'm going to dive deeper into a couple of client case studies in some future episodes to share more about why simpler messages may be more effective right now. But right now, I want to share a very simple copy recipe that you can use today. Now, this particular copy recipe is one of the most simple recipes you'll find. It's a great formula for writing Facebook and Instagram ads, and it could be used for social Pinterest posts. You could try it with email. The recipe is the quasi question offer. Click. It's three simple sentences. The first sentence is a question. You ask a question about a problem your reader wants to solve. Now, the trick here is you want the answer to be yes. You don't want to ask a question that some people might say no to. So it has to be a pretty relatable problem that we all want to fix, or a solution that we all want to have or experience.

[00:03:28] The second sentence is the offer. Tell your reader how they can solve this problem with your solution. And the third sentence is the click. Give them the call to action. Tell your reader what to do. Make them click. So here's what the shock could sound like for a coaching business, and a masterclass that you might have to grow your leads for that coaching business. Here are the three sentences. Want more coaching leads without spending all your time on social?
