  • Hey there. Welcome to episode 140 of the Ill Communication Podcast. I can't believe I'm at 140 episodes, 140 weeks. I have been showing up. every week almost coming here, creating content. And I have to tell you, this has been the biggest exercise in discipline for me and my business, but it's given me a really beautiful anchor for my business to create content and, share stories.

[00:01:22] And I keep hearing from you, some of The episodes that you love the most, and today I wanna share a writing prompt or a content prompt based on one of the episodes that I recently shared that seemed to really resonate with a lot of listeners back in episode. 1 36 I did an episode, called Making Tough Decisions in Business and Life, and a lot of you reached out to me to, Just appreciate that I gave you a window into something that I was going through in my life that was really tough. someone whom I really respect and admire, a mentor of mine, called me a truth teller and I thought that was a really beautiful thing to hear that's something that I do try to do here on the podcast, which is be real, be authentic, and tell the truth about what it's like to be a woman in business, to be a Gen X woman in business, to live in this crazy ass world that we're living in today.

[00:02:25] So. Knowing how well that episode resonated with my audience with you, I thought that I would share this as a prompt for you to create your own content around this. So the writing prompt is making a big decision. This kind of prompt, this kind of content is great for. Building know, like, and trust for building connection, for building authority, probably delivering value as well.

[00:03:01] It's based on the premise that every day we make thousands of decisions. We make micro decisions and we make massive decisions. So I want to encourage you to tell a story about a time when you had to make a big decision in your business or your life. Maybe you were forced to make a decision. Or you just knew it was time to make a really difficult decision.

[00:03:24] How did you make that decision? What questions or what process did you use to arrive at your decision? After you sort of set that up, tell your story, then segue or connect it to the kinds of decisions your clients need to make in their lives. Provide tips to help them make decisions or show how your service helps them with the decisions they have to make.

[00:03:53] This content works because it shows your vulnerability. It could show your humor, it could show just really what you're dealing with. Give us a window into your real life, and that's the point. It makes you human and relatable. I. I always say this, we are nosy. We love seeing behind the scenes content and seeing, getting a peek behind the curtain to see what people are really dealing with.

[00:04:19] And if you can share that in a way that feels authentic and safe for you to do it, please do. 'cause it's gonna really resonate with your audience. And if you can provide some value or a takeaway for your audience, then great. Now if you want. To have a great example of how to use this kind of a prompt to create some content or an email or a social post.

[00:04:44] Then go back and listen to episode 136, making tough decisions in Business and Life. Think of how you can get inspired by this content to create and share your own content in your own way and for your own audience.

[00:05:03] And if you're looking for some ideas for that subject line or headlines, it's just as simple as how to make tough decisions or it was an impossible choice. It was an impossible decision. Five strategies to shift your outcomes. Five. Life altering questions to ask yourself. How your clients should approach decision making.

[00:05:29] Again, there are so many decisions that we have to make in life on a day-to-day basis, and if you can break down your decision making process to help me make my decisions a little easier, a little faster, then it's gonna be winner content. Use this for nurture emails, blog content, social media content, LinkedIn articles, and of course, good old podcasts or YouTube episodes.

[00:05:56] Anyway. If you try out this writing prompt this week, how to make a tough decision in business or life, or making big decisions, please tag me in your content so I can see it and maybe learn a thing or two. That's it for me today. I'll see you next week.
