126: A guided reflection for entrepreneurs - 11 prompts for end-of-year reflection & goal setting in 2025
Want to set yourself up for an incredible 2025?
Today I want to guide you through a powerful end-of-year reflection practice designed specifically for entrepreneurs and business owners. I'll walk you through a series of thoughtful questions that will help you celebrate your wins, acknowledge your challenges, and craft an intentional vision for the year ahead.
Starting with a grounding meditation to help you get centered, I'll lead you through ten transformative questions that go beyond basic goal-setting.
This episode is perfect for anyone looking to close out their year mindfully and step into 2025 with clarity, purpose, and a solid plan for their business messaging and copywriting needs.
Feel free to go grab yourself a coffee or tea, your journal and your favourite pen. Light a candle and settle into a comfy spot. Pause this episode after each question, if you’d like, and give yourself the space to really think through these questions and your answers. Enjoy!

Welcome to ill communication, copywriting tips and sales strategies for small business. I'm your host, Kim Keel. I'm a copy coach, sales strategist, and direct response copywriter. It's my mission to help women leaders and changemakers amplify their voices through copy. It's why I'm dishing out all the juicy tips, writing prompts, and sales formulas to help you generate more leads, book more calls, and get more high value clients on repeat. Sounds pretty good. It's time to ditch the overwhelm you might be feeling and find confidence in your copywriting so you can get your message out there and attract more soulmate clients. Let's get started. Hello my sweet friend. When this episode airs, it will be December 25th. And whether you celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas, or the winter solstice. This entire week leading up into the new Year is a wonderful time to pause and reflect on the year that was. Might be a very busy day for you, so I hope you'll bookmark this episode and come back to it when you have time and space. Earlier this month, I led members of the Joy of Copy Club through a reflections exercise, which we do almost quarterly inside the club. It's a way to ground back into our vision and then reverse engineer the copywriting and messaging needs. We need to prioritize to support that vision. And a couple weeks ago, my right hand, Hanna and I got together for our very own coffee date to reflect and journal on 2024. So today, I want to share a few of those questions you can ask yourself to reflect on the past year, grieve any losses, celebrate any wins, and set some intentions for 2025.
[00:01:58]
These reflective questions are from a couple of folks I want to shout out Kara Carol Lowenthal, who several years ago shared her process of reflection on her podcast Unfuck Your Brain, and Jennifer Horvath of Heart Lifted Coaching has shared some of these questions inside her mini mastermind coaching programs. So maybe you want to pause this episode. Go grab yourself a coffee or tea, your journal and your favorite pen, and maybe light a candle and settle into a comfy spot. Okay, now that you have everything in place, and if you're not driving or walking or cooking something on the stove, I'll invite you to close your eyes and take a few slow, deep breaths. As you're breathing, I want you to feel your feet on the ground or your bottom and legs on your seat. Feel how supported you are by the earth underneath you. Take a few breaths to feel the energy and support from below. As you continue with your eyes closed, guide your breathing to the top of your head. Imagine there's a pillar of golden light shining down from the sky above, into the top of your head. With each breath, visualize or feel or invite the pillar of energy to enter your body. And now, in the next few breaths, turn your attention to the invisible sphere or bubble that surrounds you. Feel or visualize this bubble expanding and contracting with your breath. Then take one final inhale, bringing the energy from below, from above, and from around you into your heart space. Hold for a second and release your breath and any tension in your body.

Now please open your eyes. Grab your pen and let's begin. Question one what were your biggest wins in 2024. What were your favorite moments or themes over the last year? Another way to ask this is what are you grateful for in 2024? List your Gratitudes your wins and celebrations for your business and for your life. Now, if you want, please go ahead and pause this episode to give you time to get your thoughts out. And when you're ready, unpause and come back to the rest of the reflections. Question two what worked in 2024 and what do you want to keep doing in 2025? Question three what do you want to stop doing? What do you want less of in the coming year? Again, this is in your personal life and your business. Question four what do you want to add into your business or into your life? What do you want more of? Question five what are you going to do in 2025 to care for yourself. Question six what would make 2025 amazing for you and your business and why? Question seven what are your specific business goals this year? Do you want to increase sales into a course? Launch a mastermind, fill your one on one client calendar, grow your team your authority, or decrease your costs. List out your big goals for 2025. Question eight what support do you need to achieve those goals and make 2025 amazing for you and your business? Question nine getting a little more into the weeds. What kind of messaging and copywriting assets and resources do you need to achieve your goals? Do you need more consistency with emailing? Do you want to write a sales page and sales emails for an offer? Do you need to up level your website? Do you want to speak on more podcasts? What assets do you need to support that? What kinds of copy and marketing do you need to support your 2025 goals? Go ahead and list those out.
[00:06:22]
Question ten is a doozy. We are in a time of incredible abundance and opportunity. The universe is limitless with potential outcomes and possibilities, and there are more experts and tech available to you than ever before that you can tap into. So if you could summon the courage and resources, what would you do if you knew you couldn't fail? What is the biggest, boldest, raddest vision you have for yourself and your business from this place of limitless abundance, energy, and expansion? What could be possible for you in 2025? Write your biggest vision down. And then the follow up question is what is one small step, even a micro step you can take toward that vision. When will you take that step? I honestly think those last two questions are so juicy. If you knew you couldn't fail, what would you do? It's a question that makes me feel tingly and excited, and honestly, it's a question that I'm going to force myself to keep coming back to so that I can operate from that place of my future self, my higher self, to guide me in taking steps in the coming year.

Now, this is the first time I've shared this kind of practice with you on the podcast, and I'm super curious. Did you like it? Was it not your thing? I'd truly love to know, so please reach out to me and share. Of course, if you need copywriting, messaging or brand voice guide support to achieve any of those goals and work toward your vision, I'd love to partner with you to help you reach them. So I'll invite you to book an intro and strategy call with me. You can share your goals, and I can give you some insights into next steps or priorities to help you get there. I'll drop a link into the show notes to book that call with me. In the meantime, I really love this time of year. I love the family gatherings, the food, the Christmas lights, the crackling fires. I love playing in the snow and going skiing. I like playing games, so I want to close by wishing you the very best of this holiday season, and I want to thank you for spending your precious time with me each and every week. I'll be back again next week with a fresh episode to help you welcome the New Year. Thanks for listening to this week's episode of Ill Communication.
